she dreams
She dreams she and her mother are going away on holiday together. They are going to bus to the airport because her mother is too cheap to take a taxi. They have to change buses, at which point she notices her suitcase is missing. She asks her mother where the suitcase is, and her mother replies along the lines of she couldn't be bothered bringing it.
"But my medication's in there. And my clothes! Do you have any idea what it'll be like for me going two weeks without my pills? You knew I was looking forward to having this holiday with you. If you wanted to go by yourself you should have just said!"
She staggers off the bus with her remaining bags and walks through a local festival where she sees colourful woven bags on sale for hundreds of dollars, and can't understand why they are so expensive.
She returns home and begins unpacking. The vcr isn't recording properly and she tries to fix it. She rings a friend to let him know she hasn't gone away after all. She waits for her father to come home, having forgotten yet again that he's been dead for 13 years.
